Liverpool Football Club - Games

Klopps selections since Mane went have been poor, why is continually dropping Sturridge, why play Gini, Hendo and Can together when they have proven on numerous occasions that we can't create chances when they play together? Why is Lallana playing the front 3 when he has been outstanding in the midfield 3? Boggles the mind and is seriously pissin me off

Also not buying the fact we were without Mane or didn't start Matip. If those 11 out there today can't pull together to beat the bottom side at home, they shouldn't be here

Gegenpressing. Heavy metal football. All my ar$e and parsley.
Everyone has figured Klopp's single tactic out by now. And he has no plan B. Pretty poor from a matter tactician, allegedly.

Gegenpressing is a joy to watch when in full flow and can blow teams away with but there is no way you can play the same players through the season and expect it to be effective till the of the season. I've said before, Clyne and Milner have played all season and are asked to run and up down all game. Quite obvious it is asking a lot for them to maintain a level of performance all season long. Similarly in midfield and those behind the striker, we don't have enough options to rotate.

I made the point a while back that gegenpressing with Dortmund in Germany with a month break is completely different kettle of fish compared to using that tactic here. Don't get a break in England and also the intensity of the game is much higher

I deliberately didnt watch today as had a sick feeling and so it proved.

Liverpool have a different cast but always hit the same problems, a thin squad and not enough money pumped in to go the distance.

Klopps been found out tactically and the wheels have come off but we dont have the bodies to change it and the owners wont buy to fix it, the Germans felt nothing but love but is about to see an ugly side born out of utter frustration and desperation after so many years of dissapointment.

I can't figure out if Can has been on bad form for a while or this really is his best because this doesn't seem like the same player that was brilliant when he first arrived. He's beginning to irk me in that mf but it's not like Hendo helped much either. Abysmal passing. We have to get Sturridge in the starting line up. Also, I like Milner a lot but for next season, a club of our stature surely has to buy a specialist left back.

We score a lot, we concede a lot. We lack a plan b but play entertaining football. We have glaring deficiencies that are not being addressed. Are we the new Arsenal?

Despite all of this I believe we can still challenge for the league. We will beat Chavs at home and everyone else will drop points. We just need to rediscover our early season form.

I would just like to re-iterate that this is just a terrible terrible result. Losing at HOME to bottom of the table club?? WTF!
Man City whom people have been saying is free falling, will be LEVEL on point with us if they win their game this week...

How pathetic is that?  :veryangry

What a terrible result  Feck me we never looked like getting the 3 points at all   I don't know why most think we are such a free flowing attacking side when the truth is that we are shocking. We play most games without a recognised striker on the field and constantly recycle the ball in front of their defence till we lose it. We do nothing to stretch teams to try and get in behind and no one will take a risk. All we do is pass the ball in nothing areas which gives us a great possession stat but not a lot else.
Really poor game and sickening result but in fairness we deserved what we got.

Where do we go from here ? Try to see the season out with that squad and we will be fighting for 4th or 5th or go out and look to bring is some desperately needed quality in the time that's left.
Also have to question Klopp on why Matip didn't start  :glare:

The team was there for the taking for the first minute!, the nutcase's best player the flat foot KLAVAN the f*cking nutcase best CB!!!
The next defeat will be against Chelsea, and please do not talk about title because it was never on!, Titles can only be won  when a team has a solid defense and top finisher, however the nutcase team has neither! Liverpool finishers are both part timers one is total useless (Never improving Origi) and the other lamed (Sturridge, who need more games to gain fitfulness and sharpness)
Man. City really shouldn't be worried to drop out the top four, because Liverpool will join them and both will fight for the fifth spot!

The side was set out wrong from the start, too many flair players keeping possession of 75% - 80% which it was mainly back and square passes in Liverpool half, no urgency two useless fullbacks  especially the lovely Clyne.

All the hypes about the type of football style the nutcase is adopted for Liverpool it will not win titles or trophies, it is just a kind of aimless non-constructive footballing formula which is mainly based on have a useless defenders, and flair players who could keep possession of the ball in none- danger areas of the opponents, which it is ultimately is attractive to watch but it will not last through out the whole season, and above all it will not win titles or trophies..

We are back to the same old Liverpool story of January and February of the past number of seasons  = A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.
The LFC decline will for sure to continue.

Just follow the results since boxing day!! the kind form which I have expected since the hypes of month of August 2016!!,  Some emotional fans might not agree with me, and some might call me names for speaking the truth of our beloved LFC decline, but not improvement!, but please don't have false hopes, because the nutcase will for sure disappoint you!

I am very passionate and mad Liverpool fan, but it really hurts when you see a stupid, fool, and miscalculated manager like the nutcase, whereas his team choices is based for his own interest and not for the club!. To select a player like Klavan (who wouldn't even last in league 2) to play and be ahead of Sakho or other better CB's in squad despite all discipline club issues, there is no excuse at all,  then the manager should not be in club for being unfaithful for the interest of the team and above all LFC.

Please wait for more cups miserableness.

That's a midfield you play against city or Chelsea to stop them from controlling the game. Can is more of a defensive powerhouse and gini and hendo are both good defensive players. So my first question is why play those at home to Swansea, and my second is how the f*ck do you concede 3? All the goals were so sloppy. I bet sakho is sitting back smiling his ***** off at the fact our CBs can't defend or are left on the bench.

Never say never but for me the title is a real long shot now. My hope was that in the period without European football, we would stay close to Chelsea and maintain a gap between ourselves and the teams that are involved in Europe before they return to the CL/Europa competition. Was hoping once they are dealing with their euro games, it would be about us and Chelsea fighting it out but results like Bournemouth, sunderland and today put paid to that and teams we were ahead of have caught up with us.

If Chelsea win tomorrow, it's a 10 point gap. We play chelsea end of the month but even if we beat them, there is still a 7 point gap (provided both ourselves and chelsea win our games in between) and chelsea will turn up without any real pressure. They are literally cruising to the title as it stands

Doeboy, agree with most of that. Yes it is a long shot but if we can beat the Chavs then there is hope. All the top 5 will drop points and we have Matip then later Mane to reintroduce.

Of course we have more pressing issues right now like why our defence continues to be so porous and the cm lacking much guile. I never want to see Can and Hendo together again!

Spot on.
We were free flowing , dynamic even for the first lot of games but that soon wore off.
Why cant a fecking manager come in and sort that defence out, for all their tactical genius - surely that is blaringly obvious?
Mourinho is mending united, in my eyes klopp is papering over old cracks

Since Chrimbo our form has pretty much fallen off a cliff, by the time we play our next league game against Chelsea it will have been a month since our last win in the prem.
A month without a win is relegation form never mind title winning form!
