LIVERPOOL V EVERTON 01/04/2017 12.30 KO

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Thu Mar 30, 2017 8:47 am

Well, let's hope the fact that this game takes place on April Fools day doesn't prove to be an bad omen.
This is how things stand, we are currently hanging on to fourth place by our fingernails, United and Arsenal sit immediately below us in the table and if they win their games in hand they will both catch us, in fact if United win their games in hand they will not only catch us they will overtake us (and have a 2 point lead to boot) and given they play West Brom this weekend you'd have to assume that they are going to be 3 points better off come 5 o clock Saturday.
So as far as the race for 4th goes if we lose against Everton we will be clearly handing the initiative to United, they'd potentially have a 5 point cushion which would take a bit of chasing down with only 9 or 10 games left, especially given that Lallana is going to miss half of those remaining games.
If all that wasn't bad enough Everton are in great form as well so you get the sense that this weekend could be pivotal.
COYR.

Crunch period if the season begins. We cannot falter anymore. A loss will hit us hard so like you said a positive result is pivotal.
Lallana is out which is a loss but i feel we have enough talent to win.

Everton have got a few key players missing i think.

This is a bit like the recent City game for me in the sense that you just feel that the law of averages is going to pop up and bite us in the @rse at some point. The fact their fans are already writing this game off as 3 lost points is bound to jinx us.

We will be too much for them at Anfield. Koeman has got them playing well and they've had a decent season but overall they are a fair bit short compared to the 6 sides aboves them. 3-1/2-1 to us imo

One thing im happy about is Mane.
Really glad we've got him. His a game changer and his pace will be needed for this final phase of the season.

We normally get one over Everton though they are in good form coming into the game, the half full glass tells me they are due something in the derby.

At Goodison Lukaku was expertly marshalled by Klavan so we hope for the same, I feel the Belgians heart quickly goes out of it if the game isnt going his way though nobody has been able to hold him recently. Shackling him is an obvious route to victory.

As for us we are always at our best playing as a team, we have good individuals but rarely do they win games for us on their own like Lukaku can for Everton, we really arent much unless the machine works as a whole.

If Klopps machine is purring we will win, not many can stop us on top form so we must hope it all comes together on Saturday and anything less we will struggle as Everton are a good side on their day.

With Coleman and Funes Mori both missing at the back for the Bitterz, and Schneiderlin and McCarthy also out injured it probably means the bitterz will start with a rigid midfield held by an ageing Barry, so with Sturridge in contention to start or maybe even young Woodburn  alongside  Mane and Firmino we could run these fuckerz ragged  .

Don't think Sturridge will start another game for us, to be honest. Klopp doesn't rate him or his workrate and think he'll be the first out of the door.

That said, there's no better way to make a stake for his future over these next few months. He would make our season, with a dozen goals. But then again pigs might fly  :D

Be nice to see him actually play and increase his sale value.

Yup it would be awesome if he could stay injury free and bang in some crucial goals. Doubt that will happen.

They've been decimated by injuries. Even with a few injury problems ourselves we should win this.
