Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby killerp » Tue May 23, 2017 9:52 am

um.... the season is not over yet you lazy buggers? We have one more game!

Before we descend into speculation overdrive in the summer break, we will enjoy one more game.

Watch Gerrard and co play Sydney FC as we celebrate the 125th anniversary.

If you live in the southern hemisphere you can enjoy watching a Liverpool at a reasonable hour.

Crucial game, if we lose I'd say sack Klopp. Lads must give 110% and play like there life depended on it.

This is a must win game, 9 months of hard work are on the line here :D
Apparently it's on LFC TV tomorrow at 11 o clock in the morning (UK time). I might tape it and watch it later on when I'm having my tea or something.
I'm not expecting much of a game though, given the size of the squad that we've travelled with I imagine it will be one of those games where we field a completely different line up  the second half, there will probably be plenty of substitutions as well so it's going to be one of those stop start affairs.

Coutinho, Hendo and Can haven't travelled with the squad.
Hendo is injured, Coutinho is going to Melbourne to link up with the Brazil squad and Emre is playing in the confederations cup in Russia.

"Fresh from securing a top-four finish and a place in the Champions League qualifiers for next term, the Reds have jetted out to the Australia for their final fixture of 2016-17.

Supporters down under will get a rare glimpse of Klopp and co up close when they run out at the ANZ Stadium to face Sydney FC, while club legends Steven Gerrard, Steve McManaman, Jamie Carragher and Daniel Agger are also set play a part.

And the boss is viewing this special game as a chance to bring a memorable end to what has been a season of progress for LFC.

"I’m already really looking forward to how they react now," he told Liverpoolfc.com.

"We go in the stadium and 80,000 Liverpool supporters are there and they are the first who can really celebrate the good season with us.

"Let’s do it together with all these quality players plus legends - a few of them can play because after the last game and the flight we will see how we can line-up.

"It will be nice even though it’s quite intense because it could have been worse, we could have used bicycles to get over!

"It’s all good, it feels good, the mood is good." "

Live on ABC2 for my fellow Aussies

From the Daily Telegraph

LIVERPOOL, another on a high after qualifying for the Champions League, have named their starting XI for tonight’s big clash with A-League champions Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium.

Just three days after securing a top four finish in the English Premier League, Liverpool will take on Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday night.

The star-studded line-up that will greet the A-League champions for this post-season friendly is: Loris Karius, Dejan Lovren, Jamie Carragher, Alberto Moreno, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Lucas Leiva, Steven Gerrard, Ben Woodburn, Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge, Harry Wilson.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp named a strong squad on Monday, with Philippe Coutinho, Emre Can and the injured duo of Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane the only significant omissions from the 25-man group.

Liverpool will face Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium on May 24. Kick-off will be 8pm, with gates opening at 6pm
