Kazan v Liverpool

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Good game, good result. Always difficult to go to Russia and win, especially against a team that has 11 men defending their box. We deserved to score more but I'm happy enough with the one goal and the clean sheet. Important win for our confidence and for the competition itself.

A professional performance, still that lack of cutting edge still comes through but much more composure and management of the situation.

For now the erratic error strewn displays seem to have gone and thats the base we start from.

Got a feeling if we progress we will face Dortmund.

That was our first away victory in Europe for 3 years.

Thought it was a good performance myself, I was really impressed with our high pressing and with some of our build up play too. Klopps influence is really starting to come through now.

That's mad. Just goes to show how far we've fallen in recent years.

However, another decent result and our defence looks better and more together with each passing game, which is promising.

Rubin manager Valeriy Chaly was happy with his team's showing as European football returned to the Kazan Arena.

"In the second half we looked more composed but we have a problem with the composition so the young players had a chance," he said.

"For them, it's an experience. Liverpool are a good team and showed that against Chelsea -- so, we are still better than Chelsea."

That stat surprised me too, although the year we finished second we didn't have any european football at all (as the press constantly reminded us at the time)

We managed a 1-0 win and I suppose I should be happy about that !!  But to be honest RK were absolutely pathetic  and we should have shoved a bagful past them.

We are becoming a team that are very difficult to score against. That has got to be good news if we can be a little more creative in midfield and take our chances in front of goal.

Onwards and upwards. Good record so far for the Kloppster !!

We played some gorgeous football last night with Firmino orchestrating most ,intelligent footballers make the game look easy. I think we've got some player on our hands ,picks some of the most delightful passes out with the creativity and guile of Ozil .

I'm Loving watching  Ibes game coming along in veritable leaps and bounds under Klopp ,every player seems reinvigorated playing for this fella ,even Lovren
looked a lot more composed last night and made some timely tackles and interceptions . Sakho gets more monstrous with every game he plays so too Clyne.

Klopp is the best managerial coup this club have pulled off since Rafa ,cant wait for what the next few years bring.

We have solidified our defence for sure and yes are becoming hard to concede.
The goals will come up front gradually. Personally i feel we will score more when Sturridge is back. Benteke is good but for me DS offer more of a goal threat.
Thats why its important we snap another quality striker as DS isn't fit majority of the time.

Why do you hate Firminho soo much? Has he done something to you personally? Honestly your hate is not even justified. Its getting boring now.
