And Mignolet mate. It will do him really good.

Still buzzing over the win.

I think I could've been the goalie for this one mate but I know what you mean!!

Everton had 4 attempts and 1 shot on target during the game. Liverpool had 68% possession. Everton played their usual spoiling tactics and very nearly succeeded. Not losing was more important than winning to the bitters !! Something's never change

The Anfield Chelsea game now becomes enormous !!!

I think that you stop Everton if you nullify Lukaku and our centre backs where superb last night, I have to say that despite some criticism in games I havent seen Klavan has always been excellent when Ive seen him, certainly no way Lucas should have ever been selected ahead of him.

Everton played very very dirty. It was  lovely punch to the gonads at the end, couldn't have scripted it better.

A very hard fought win, and it was quite physical too. Simply we cannot afford to let Sturridge leave we will need him in close games like this.. Quality finisher who has created a goal out of nothing, and completed by the MOM Mane.
I am still cannot change my mind about "Firmino", he is not worth the money it had spent on him, total useless, How many time he gave the ball away!, too many missed passes!, no conviction in front of goals, and ought to be replaced after 30 minutes of yesterday game!

Good luck for the next hard game against Stoke City.

I agree with you on Studge Algy.
We cannot let him go this season.

Firmino is integral to Klopp system but i have noticed his form has dipped. Maybe he misses his partner in crime, Couts.

To be fair Klavan lost his place in the team after he had a bit of a 'mare against Burnley but there was a lovely moment of catharsis for him last night when he went flying into a 50/50 on the halfway line. At Turf Moor he lost out in a similar tackle with Andre Gray in the build up to Burnley's second but you could see that there was no effin way he was going to lose that one yesterday, he went steaming in and there was even a hint of 2 footed-ness about it. He was either going to win the ball or get sent off, losing the tackle was not an option.
As he's been sitting on the bench watching Matip and Lovren form a solid partnership he's probably been replaying that 50/50 up at Turf Moor over and over a thousand times in his head so its nice for him to be able to lay that ghost to rest, that it happened in an intense derby game just makes it all the sweeter.

Scratched a win out of a draw at that shithole on a shitty Monday night is what Man Utd did for the whole of the nineties.  Scrapping around for 3 points,  non convincing but what counts is 3 points.

Well done lads

Actually that was the first 'proper' derby game that we've had for a while, the last few have sort of been relatively low key affairs with teams having plenty of time and space on the ball. That one on Monday was more like the derbies of yesteryear, it was played at a frantic pace with tackles flying in, controversial decisions, cards being shown and players squaring up to each other, any football that did get played got played in the second half and ultimately on the score board there wasn't much between the two teams.
It probably wasn't a great watch for a neutral but merseyside derbies seldom are, not proper derbies anyway.
