If the first part of the season has told us something its our defence is weak and we simply cannot keep relying on scoring 3 goals every game as much as we enjoy the ride.

Its a matter of keeping within touching distance until January and for me if the club cannot find better defensive players in January its a pretty poor show in a world market, for once break structures and put the money in to guarantee top 4 if not the title.

Minimum a quality DMF short term to protect that back line if FSG baulk at the cost of several deals in the winter window.

I think the money is there, but Klopp won't sign players for the sake of it. He also won't panic and spend big. I think we'll bring in a winger, midfielder and a striker in Jan. Klopp has said these areas are weak and need addressing. He'll probaly wait until the summer to sort out the defence.

Mate, sorting out the defence should be his number one priority, our attack is statistically the best in the division, why waste money on attacking players when there's only Watford in the top half of the table who have conceded more goals than us?
Our defence cost us the title back in 2013-14 and even now in the present a mixture of kamikaze defending and comical goalkeeping has allowed Chelsea to build a 9 point buffer on us which may well prove to be season defining (especially given the games we have got coming up).
If Jurgen doesn't address our defensive issue's in January it might not just be our title hopes going up in smoke but our top 4 hopes as well, United are gaining ground on us, while we have been throwing points away recently they have been quietly clawing themselves back into contention, beating solid teams like Spurs and West Brom along the way.

Defence is our priority as Sakho will never play for us again and no one is sure whether Matip will be play for Cameroon in January's ridiculously scheduled Cup of Nations tournament.

Our goal-keeping situation also keeps holding us back, which is one of the easiest positions to solve if we just spent money on a decent keeper.

Other than that wouldn't mind seeing another DM or box-to-box CM. As Lucas was past his use by date 2-3 seasons ago and Henderson/Can aren't specialists in this area.

Mane being away will also hurt us, as an injury to Coutinho, Firminho or Lallana during this time and our season is all but over. So maybe bringing in another AM or quick FW for cover will be wise.

Who knows what Klopp will do though and whether FSG will allow him to spend?

Chelsea will inevitably stop winning games, so if we can hold on till then I think it maybe a 3 horse race with them and City.

Arsenal are becoming way too reliant on Sanchez and United the same with Ibrahimovic. I don't rate sides that are too reliant on one player.

We need to stop shipping so many goals if we seriously want to challenge Chelsea, starting tomorrow. Conceding the second most after Watford in the top half of the table is a very poor stat. That needs to change NOW if we are serious about the title.

Tomorrow is a marker for me. A game that is a must win in a highly charged atmosphere.

I must admit I'm not a massive fan of derby games, there's just too much riding on the result. We've got Evertonians living next door and when Bournemouth scored their fourth the other week you'd have swore that they'd won the lottery or something.

Apparently this ref Mike Dean likes to punish grappling and has a record of awarding penalties for it so they will be screaming every time the ball goes into that box and simultaneously booing if nothings awarded. We must be vigilant on that and try and get something ourselves if they start dishing it out.

The longer our terrific run against Everton runs its one of those where your expecting a bad one on averages, but lets hope the boys can stand up and start popping the ball about and frustrate them, get the job done.

Might be more tension than normal what with what their lad did to Origi at Anfield and both likely to play.

Well it's Deja Vu time again!
The Derby that seems to have an inevitable tale of the one that got away.
We are due a defeat to this bunch of $piltarses but each time we manage to come away with something.
Long may it continue...

We're missing Can. For me, this is the perfect game for him. He's big, physical, strong in the air and commands the midfield. That's where we're hurting right now. Not sure who I'd swap him for- probably Wijnaldum as they sort of play similar roles and we probably only need 1. I just think Can is better at it than Wijnaldum is.

They're certainly controlling this game at the moment so something needs to change. Neither team really looks like scoring, but if one were to score right now it certainly wouldn't be us. We need to get the likes of Lallana, Mane and Firmino more involved so we can start creating something.

And credit to Dean- really letting the game play. I think it's more beneficial for Everton at the moment, but there surely won't be any cheap cards given away.

A lot of effort and work being put in but no real quality so far in this game. Just seems to be two teams cancelling each other out through hard graft. Got a feeling this game will be won by a mistake or a moment of brilliance form say Sturridge off the bench

Everton all huff and puff and if we improve in possession then its there for us.

Actually think weve defended alright and contained them very well but Firmino and Mane in particular must get into the game if we are going to hurt Everton.

I'm sick of Mane coming short for the ball all the time at the moment.. He wants the ball in the middle of the park to dictate play, but his passing is atrocious and when he tries to play clever he over plays it everytime. That is not Mane game, he needs to leave that to Wijnaldum/hendo/Lallana and stick to making runs behind the everton defence. If he keeps getting the ball deep we have less options going forward.

The last 15 minutes we started to win some second balls and string a few passes together but before that we were awful.
Come on Reds we need to win this!

Yes he's coming bit too deep  for my liking and also bit too narrow. With his pace, he should be looking to run and stretch Baines. Would like him to be the option out wide for the central midfielders to look for.
