An away trip to Villa next. After getting back to winning ways against QPR we come up against a villa side which looks a shadow of recent years.

They will be without injured Agbonlahour given and jeans for the tie.
Whereas dalglish has hinted that Gerrard could return.

Darren bent has looked woeful this season so if he continues his poor performances I think we will come away with the 3 points.

Downing comes up against his old side so it will be an added incentive for him

This is my second away of the season so it'd better be worth it (my other was Stoke when we somehow came away with nothing). :angry:

Villa are poor and our games down there are normally dire and very close. Can't see beyond another tight 1-0 win for us if I'm honest.

I would like to see Shelvey given a chance. Our front players are struggling to hit the back of the net and he has been scoring for fun. He followed up his 6 for Blackpool with two in the reserves. I don’t think his long term future is in central midfield, I think he will end up playing high up the pitch, like Gerrard.

Could actually see us grabbing another clean sheet. 3 goals conceded in the last 5, 1 against city, 1 against chelsea, and 1 against fulham when we were down a man. Our defense has been really strong, and with their best scorers blowing (Bent) and injured (Agbonglahor) I could see us running away 1 or 2-0 winners.

Would really like to see Maxi get a game. Seems like he plays well when he plays, but doesn't get the chance to play. Liked the squad with Maxi, Adam, Jonjo, Downing in midfield and then Luis and Andy up top. Back line has been solid thus far so don't tinker with it. Let's get the three points and get a nice first half lead so we can be done with it.
