I really want to see Carroll sprinting in a counter attack he is just jogging, Downing made a good run

Well that has to be the easiest 3 points we'll get all season. Just a stroll in the park. Again, should have won about 8-0 but poor finishing and the woodwork continues to prevail.

Christ knows how Villa are mid-table. On that toothless display I would say they were more relegation candidates

Bit Hursh...Seems the whole MF wasn't interested in doing anything in the last 10 minutes..So many wasted passes.  :(

Positives: Easiest Win this Season ,Superb defending ,Superb Ballamy ,Jonjo very confident and encouraging ,the rest of the MF still needs to justify their place. Very good Win.

Hey those 3rd kits might be our lucky kits :D. Anyway, good game, deserved 3 points and a clean sheet. Results going our way as well with Newcaslte and Chelsea both losing points. All we need now is the Spurs game to stay this way and Arsenal to lose and we'll have a perfect weekend :D.

good to get the three points but i feel we could have done so much better. as usual we had our bad luck with the hitting of woodwork but we really could and should have taken a pitiful aston villa to the cleaners. despite winning away from home we really lack a clinical cutting edge.

Happy with the win, but feel underwhelmed as we should have thrashed Villa. Positives were Shelvey, Bellamy and the defence. Adam and Henderson are still giving 5/10 performances, Downing can't shoot, and should therefore stop and Suarez, love him, but too wasteful, he needs to understand that doing the simple things will still be very effective. He should take a look at Messi, best player ever IMHO, but is always looking for the simple pass.

Easiest game we've had at Villa park in a long time.  2-0 flattered Villa.

Defensively sound, midfield kept the ball moving well but once again we were too wasteful in front of goal, which is my only criticism of the performance.

I think Suarez's potential ban is going to come at a good time for him, looked knackered out there today, maybe his summer's exploits catching up with him.

Commanding performance, after 20 mins thought we'd finish 3 or 4 nil up . Villa's loss of two of their key players no doubt helped but I've got no complaints, job done on what could have been a more tricky away game.

Was like a training game after the second went in and looked like Villa wanted to go home after that. But for the woodwork we should had doubled the score and perhaps if we had pushed a little harder we would have but they where happy to coast to victory. One thing I would say is our team is crying out for pace. If we could get a real speed merchant in up top it would make a hell of a difference, some nice build up but that injection is missing. Bellamy shows glimpses of that and how the game lights up for us in those moments.
