CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL 2018  LIVERPOOL V REAL MADRID

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Talking about omens our last final was against a "Spanish" side Sevilla who were on a hatrick and got it against us.

Ironic how another "Spanish" side is after a hatrick.

Very similar scenarios.

Don't forget that the retired Pope Benedict is still alive at 91 years and it's entirely credible that he'll pop his cloggs in the coming months. Wouldn't want anything bad to befall the guy but he could do us one hell of a favour here.....

Interesting stats but I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that it's been 13 years since Istanbul.

Where the fornicate did the time go ?

Don't we win when there's a new doctor who as well?

All ourEuropean cup final wins were in red against teams in white. We've also lost one but nobody needs to remember that.

The last time the semi finalists were from Germany, Spain, Italy and England, Liverpool went on to win the European cup....against Real Madrid....

Our Xi will most likely be the following...

              Karius

  TAA       VVD  Lovren   Robertson

              Hendo
       Gini          Milner

Salah                    Mane

             Firmino

Any idea how Real may set up???

Is their formation similar to ours??

I hope Madrid turn up expecting this to be a walk in the park, I really do. Our lot have had 2 weeks rest, we should be raring to go and shouldn't start tailing off around the 65 minute mark.

Stop the superstitious stuff folks, our work rate, pressing and determination will be the decisive factor.

I'm expecting us to play the first half well, it's just after 65 mins, our work rate slows a bit and we have conceded lots of goals in the final third of a lot of matches this season, and squandered leads galore this season, also.

Our FOCUS and keeping it tight at the back, like versus City, will be the decisive factor.

I'm just hoping if we do start well and go 2/3 goals up for example, we don't self destruct and throw it away. :nod

Here is one to get the competitive juices flowing lads:

Vicente Del Bosque has said no Liverpool player, not even Mohamed Salah, would get into the Real Madrid team and predicted a 4-1 Madrid win in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Del Bosque, a player and coach at Madrid, lost a European Cup final to Liverpool in 1981 but guided Los Blancos to Champions League triumph in both 2000 and 2002.

The former Spain coach told "El Partidazo" radio show that even Egypt international Salah's 44 goals this season would not get him into the Madrid team.

"Real Madrid have a great squad -- they are the best club in Europe at the moment and must show that on Saturday," he said.

"I don't see even one Liverpool player who would improve Real Madrid, not even Salah."

Del Bosque predicted a comfortable win for his old club in Kiev, Ukraine, while former Madrid teammate Jose Antonio Camacho forecast a 3-0 Madrid victory.

Meanwhile, left-back Marcelo told Madrid's website that Liverpool had more dangermen than just Salah, with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane posing big threats.

"Every game is different and Liverpool aren't just all about Salah," he said. "They've also got Firmino and Mane.

"They've got several players who are capable of changing the complexion of a game, particularly in finals, and we're aware that we can't afford to focus on one single player."

I hope to God we t.wa.t these arrogant f**kers and put a cricket score past them.
"LIVERPOOL: 6 European Cups, 19 Domestic Titles, 3 UEFA Cups, 8 FA Cups, 9 League Cups and 4 European Super Cups and 1 Club World Championship

All other English clubs pale into insignificance!"

Clearly it's an interview given to the junior section of the RM fanzine if he honestly thinks RM are the best side in europe... they came 3rd in La Liga 17 points behind Barca...

Can't wait for Saturday night, get the beers in, barbecue, 23 degrees heat, big screen for the match and smoking Mo Salah to bag a hattrick in the match.

My gut feeling is that this is gonna be our year. All someone needs to do before Saturday is shoot the pope! :p
