Good to see the mancs drop 2 points today. Spurs won again however. With City Arsenal playng tomorrow, means one/both of them will drop points so a decent weekend for us

On paper, it should be a walk in the park:

Liverpool v Bournemouth Wed 5 Apr
Stoke City v Liverpool Sat 8 Apr
West Bromwich Albion v Liverpool Sun 16 Apil
Liverpool v Crystal Palace Sun 23 Apil

Watford v Liverpool Mon 1 May
Liverpool v Southampton Sun 7 May
West Ham United v Liverpool Sat 13 May
Liverpool v Middlesbrough Sun 21 May

Sadly these are the type of teams we usually struggle with  :(

To not have any games left against the likes of Chelsea, City, Arsenal, United, Spurs and Everton certainly helps our cause.

Klopp has said a few times that we shouldn't lose another game this season and I agree. If we sort our sh!te out, we could have top 4 wrapped up by the end of the month.

Really do think top 4 is our's to lose (which we are  capable of doing unfortunately). Maximum number of points we can finish on is 83, same as the mancs. Arsenal can finish on 81. Seeing as both teams have to play each other and the mancs still have to play city and spurs away and chelsea and everton at home, think it's pretty clear we are much more  likely to get closer 83 mark point than them when comparing our fixtures.

Arsenal also a have trip to spurs and host the mancs and everton and with the cloud over them, even their so called easier fixtures will start looking tricky.

If we miss out this year, then we only have ourselves to blame as it is setup perfectly for us to push on and get the job done. Very confident that it will be job done come end of the season

The following top four candidates have some seriously difficult fixtures ahead

Spurs have still got to play Leicester Away  Palace away West Ham away and Arsenal and United at home, all games they could easily drop points in.
Chelsea have City, United and Spudz as well as Southampton and Everton away , of which none of them are easy fixtures
City have still to play Chelsea Southampton  Arsenal away and a Manchester Derby they also have to welcome a resurgent Leicester and Palace to the Etihad
United have to play all of the runners for fourth place ' City Arsenal Chelsea and Spudz ' albeit from us

We have games that on paper should be winnable and we've been handed a brilliant opportunity with the run in to win all of our games and finish as high up the table as is possible, in fact if we don't finish in the top four every player should donate a gonad.

Looking at those fixtures we could finish the season as the team closest enough to touch Chelsea's coat tails

If we had 3 or 4 points more we would have still been in the title race mate, as it is the maximum we can get is 83 which I feel is going to be just shy.

I know we wont catch Chelsea mate , but like you posted in another thread we endured a ridiculously bad start to 2017, so in truth we were architects of our own demise, but now we have remarkably pushed ourselves back into contention we simply cant lose any more ground, and after watching our last three matches we look more than capable of closing down games and I think against Burnley and the Bitterz the manager has shown he's learning more about managing in this league by the defeats more than the wins.

I didn't think we would get top 4 but looking at the table it's definitely on.

Considering weve hardly signed anyone or spent anything for ages and had to cope with Sturridge and balance Couthino, Firmino and Mane with international duty 4th would be a big achievement.

You look at what United have spent if we finish above them its a great effort from Klopp and this paper thin squad.

This week is critical, if Everton get something at United the door is open or us against Bournemouth to go a long way to cement four at their expense.

Chelsea will win it at a canter in the end imo. Their loss over the weekend could easily have been a comfortable win for them because they actually played quite well but it was just one of those games where things don't go for you. Don't see them suffering any kind of blip

Spurs, even without Kane, keep churning out wins and just checked there fixtures it has a very similar feel to our fixtures with the exception of their home games v Arsenal and the mancs. They will be well up for those 2 games as the Arsenal game will be the last derby they play at their ground and the mancs game will be the last ever game at the ground.

We can definitely finish second but will obviously require us not wobbling and spurs doing just that. Didn't realise they also have a game in hand on us to

OK that result has put bit of a dent in our bid fort top 4. Maximum points we can get now is 81. Got to be honest, think we will have done seriously well if we finish ahead of spurs now and even though its possible, realistically, it's looking like either a 3rd/4th finish for CL. They need another 17 (16 will probably do it seeing as their GD is better) to ensure they finish ahead of us and unfortunately for us without Mane possible for the rest of the season and also Lallana for a few weeks, we are in for a real fight now.

However it's still tight and I think optimism will probably go back and forth over the next few weeks but we are still well in the mix

Simply no. Not enough top teams left to play.
And the team obviously can't handle mid and bottom table teams.

If we do f**k it up it will be squad depth that will have cost us, we fell apart when we were without Coutinho and Mane just after Christmas and it looks like history could be repeating itself again with Mane's, Lallana's and Hendo's absence.
We will only have ourselves to blame though, as a club we can't really whinge about squad depth when we chose not to sign anyone in two out of the last three windows. Even the one window where we did bring players in we made a profit.
