Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Personally I think he has now moved into the world class category, opposition players are frightened to death of him. Hes lighting quick, as strong as an ox, skillful, a good finisher and his decision making is excellent. Fitness depending I think he will definitely score over 20 goals this season and he will probably the next player the likes of Madrid and Barca come sniffing around in future when he starts tearing it up in the champions league.

If he has a big impact, which im sure he will in the champions league then expect the big clubs to start unsettling him next summer.

To be honest, Mane is the type of player Barca need right now. He has pace to burn and can spin past a man on a six pence. He's also smart, which means he'd link up with the likes of Suarez with ease.

I'm not sure if we should appeal or not to be honest. He currently misses 3 games against teams we should comfortably win.. if we appeal and lose the appeal he'll be in danger of missing the spurs and United matches if I'm not mistaken?

If that's the case then it's not worth risking.

I would  think the fact that Matt Ritchie only got a yellow for a very similar incident will be the basis of our appeal. Being honest I don't think we will win so it just leaves the question hanging over whether they increase the ban.
While Sadio did have his eyes fully on the ball you cannot lead with the foot and especially not in the air like that. It was unfortunate and certainly not a reflection on the lads character so I think we should just accept it and move on as it is part of the game. Sometimes decisions go your way and sometimes they don't but in the end it levels itself out.
Had Mane escaped with nothing I guarantee most of those pundits and reporters would be calling for retrospective action from the FA. As it stands he will miss Burnley and a double header against Leicester in the League and Cup which isn't that bad and besides at this stage of the season we should be more than able to cope.

According to the rules all the boxes are ticked for a red card regardless of intent. I think we shouldn't appeal and just leave it as it is. We've got Ox who can fill in for Mane and to be honest the games he will miss are not against tough opposition.

So he will miss Burnley and Leicester x2, not too bad.

Yeah it certainly could have been worse, Jurgen probably wasnt planning on playing him in the League Cup tie against Leicester anyway so in effect it's a 2 game ban -

BURNLEY (H)
LEICESTER (A)

As you say that's not too bad.

It hopefully gives Ox his chance to prove his worth.. id rather have pace on either side of Firmino and have Coutinho playing CAM.

Yup for the Caraboa cup we will most likely give a chance to Solanke, Studge and others. I hope we do progress in that competition, it will give the other lads some game time.

David Luiz just kicked a player in the face. Agreed was accidental but still dangerous. He gets a yellow. I really dont see the difference.
