Liverpool vs ManUre

Mignolet      7  Did not have much to do against a team not interested in winning. Thankfully Matic's shot just missed.
Gomez        8  Thought he had both Martial and Rashford in his pocket, a mature performance
Matip          7  Solid
Lovren        7  Kept Lukaku quite
Moreno       6  Decent enough but still a little wreck less
Wijnaldum  7  Good energy
Henderson  7.5 I thought he ran all over the place. What he lacked in creativity he made up with endeavor.
Can            7 He has played better but OK
Salah          7 Quick feet and movement but again, poor finishing
Firmino      6.5 Great energy but looked a little jaded.
Coutinho    7 Best player on the pitch but shackled by Herrera and Valencia

Subs

Sturridge  6 Did nothing to show he should start
Chamberlain 5 not sure why we bought him, we already have Milner. He should play fullback!
Solanke   5 Not on long enough to affect the game

Mignolet      7  Had a good save against Lukako..
Gomez        6  Not good enough ,can't pass can't cross ,too much positional errors.
Matip          8  impressive calm and again passes the ball much better then the 3 stooges.
Lovren        7  No errors.
Moreno       6  No errors.
Wijnaldum  7  Was very active but no end product.
Henderson  6 Would make a great Iron man competitor..but where is the footballer? sideways meaningless passing all day long.
Can            6 Same as Hendo..Plus his atrocious miss against goal.
Salah          7 Same Mo..Constant threat but nothing more then a threat...The most frustrating player on the pitch.
Firmino      5 Only starting because our other options are just as pale..
Coutinho    7 OK performance but couldn't find the space to operate.

Subs

Sturridge  5 he is the reason Firmino still starts...
Chamberlain 6 Looked energetic and promising.
Solanke   6 not enough time.

Mingolet - 7 didn't have much to do but scores a 7 because of that crucial save to deny Lukaku
Gomez - 8 not great in possession but developing into a solid no airs and graces type defender. The lad must be a phenomenal natural athlete because neither Martial or Rashford had the pace to get away from him and Joe has had a cruciate ligament injury. He must have had Olympic pace before the injury to still be that quick after the operation.
Matip - 7 kept an on-fire United attack quiet
Lovren - 7 ditto
Moreno - 7 played well
Henderson - 7.5 worked hard and played well
Wijnaldum - 8 if he played like that every week he'd be one of the first names down on the team sheet. Fine performance.
Can - 6 started a bit slow but improved as the game went on
Salah - 7 looked bright and gave United plenty of problems
Coutinho - 7 not at his very best but still looked the classiest player on the park
Firmino - 6.5 worked hard and linked play up well.

Subs -
Sturridge - 5 barely touched the ball
Chamberlain - 7 looked very bright when he came on
Solanke - n/a not on long enough to make an appraisal

MIngolet 6.  One save was all he had to make and it probably would have hit him in the face anyway.
Gomez 7. Did very well considering his experience and the magnitude of this game.
Matip 7. Our best CH.
Lovren 5. Hadn't a lot to do which is just as well because lukaku would have left him for dead everytime.
Moreno 6. Didn't do anything wrong but has to stop thinking he is a winger because he cannot get back when needed.
Henderson 7. Boring but effective.
Wijnaldum 7. Boring but effective.
Can 6. Would have given him a 7 only for that miss but otherwise same as the other two.
Coutinho 8. Why oh why is he always out wide rather than central.
Firmino 5. Worked hard but it isn't enough to stand out from the other "workers".
Salah 6. He really should be doing better considering the positions he finds himself in but if he isn't offside its a poor effort.

Sturridge 4. He didn't do anything.
Ox 4. Maybe he had a good sleep the night before because he did look fresh but brought nothing to the game.

Mignolet      7  nothing to do really apart from Lukaku shot
Gomez        8  Best performance i have seen from Gomez
Matip          7 Kept it tight at the back
Lovren        7 same as Matip
Moreno       7 did well
Wijnaldum  7  worked hard controlling the mid not giving mannure a chance to move forward
Henderson  7 same as Wijnaldin
Can            6 Did ok but that miss was a sitter
Salah          7 Agile but could have offered more
Firmino      7 Did well but looked jaded and could have done more
Coutinho    7.5 As usual good performance but should have stayed on

Subs

Sturridge  5
Chamberlain 6.5
Solanke   5

Mingolet - 7 Done well stopping the Lukaku shot
Gomez - 8 Thought the lads crossing was brilliant and has the pace and ability to nail down a place in that starting eleven
Matip - 7 Really good game and very nearly made hero status with a goal.
Lovren - 7 Made all the correct decisions and was tigerish in the tackle
Moreno - 7 Finally he realizes he can clear the ball into row z rather than complicate matters
Henderson - 8 On his game his energy is infectious the lad was chasing down lost causes and giving Matic and co panic attacks.
Wijnaldum - 9 This is the Wijnaldum that we know and love, its unbelievable the strength he has to hold off opponents and then find the space for the pass.
Can - 6 Dawdled on the ball and had the Kop hoarse with shouting "f*cking man on" but grew into the game
Salah - 7 Exceptional in the first half with Brazilian like control, one run had the Kop purring as he slip streamed around three United players at searing pace
Coutinho -6  Had a 15 minute spell were he was unplayable but for the most part disappointing.
Firmino 8 Defended from the front brilliantly and his link up play with Coutinho provided the best moments of the match.

Maribor V Liverpool

Karius 6. A very easy night.
Arnold 7. Got up and down well and got rewarded for it albeit with the help of a deflection.
Matip 6. Nothing to do.
Lovren 6. Ditto.
Moreno 7. Never tested but had an assist so extra point.
Can 6. good game.
Milner 7. good game and an assist.
Wijnaldum 6. same as above.
Coutinho 8. Goal and an assist.
Firmino 8. some sloppy passing but 2 goals and an assist is a good night.
Salah 9. Motm.

Ox 6. Some stray passing but good burst of pace for the goal.
Sturridge 5. Good pass for the assist but couldn't create anything for himself.
Solanke 4. Don't understand why we sent Origi out on loan to make way for him or how he could even be ahead of Ings for that matter.

Karius - 6 not much to do but did it well, looked very assured
TAA - 6 good strike and worked hard but needs to work on his positional play defensively
Matip - 7 solid
Lovren - 7 same
Moreno - 7 he's like a different player this season
Can - 7 one or two sloppy passes but played that anchor role well
Wijnaldum - 6 decent performance
Milner - 6 put in a shift and did well
Coutinho - 8 another goal, class act
Salah - 8 great performance
Firmino - 7.5 his best game in a while, much more like his old self

Sturridge - 6 struggled to get into the game but great assist for AOC
AOC - 7 bit sloppy early on but took his goal well
Solanke - 5 game was like a pre season friendly when he came on, tough for the lad to impress in those circumstances

AND...as ever a big thanks to damjan for working out the averages, top man.

Spurs V Liverpool.

Mingolet 4. Get him out.
Moreno 4. Just rubbish.
Lovren 0. Oh yeah its the painkillers  :nod He also had it tough growing up you know.
Matip 5, Best of a bad bunch.
Gomez 5. Did well moving to CB but we were already all over the shop at that point.
Can 4. Headless but not easy playing with some of those around him.
Henderson 4. Absolutely sick of looking at this spineless chump wearing the armband.
Milner 5. Worked hard but poor overall.
Coutinho 6. Huffed and puffed but it don't take rocket science to figure out that if you stop him you stop us, Wasn't allowed to get into the game.
Firmino 5. As bad as persisting with Lovren is the decision to make firmino our no 1 striker is right up there.
Salah 6. Thought we got back into it when he netted but we didn't really create anything after that.

Ox 5. Just another average player.
Sturridge 3. Don't think he is arsed myself.
Grujic 3. not really on long enough

Mignolet - 3 - it was such an easy ball, he could have just stretched his arms and catch it but he decided to dive into it  :no  Didn't cover himself in glory for the first goal either. Time for Ward to finally step up
Gomez - 5 - can't blame him for anything really
Matip - 4 - OK overall but his bad header clearance costed us the goal that killed the game
Lovren - 1 - gets 1 point for that block on Kane. Otherwise, one of the worst defensive displays I've seen from a player, ever.
Moreno - 4 - back to his old brain dead self.
Henderson - 5 - good assist for the goal but poor game overall. Not good enough to be starting for the club, never mind be the captain
Can - 4 - with performances like this he should be ashamed of himself for asking that kind of money for his new deal
Milner - 4 - shouldn't be played in midfield in games like this really
Coutinho - 6 - Spurs marked him tightly so he couldn't really do much
Salah - 7 - good goal and was our main threat
Firmino - 4 - been off it for a while

Subs:
Ox - 5 - why did we sign him again?
Sturridge - 4 - no longer the player he used to be
Grujic - n/a

Mingolet - 4 he's been here since 13/14 when we finished second under Brendan and those 4 years have seen us ship goals like they are going out of fashion.
Gomez - 5 did okay generally but where was he when Song ran through? Leaving someone as slow as Milner as last man was poor awareness from him.
Matip - 4 poor today, actually had the gall to throw a strop after he headed the ball back into the danger area. I wouldn't mind but we had ridden out the early storm and done well to get back into the game as well but his header ended the game as a meaningful contest.
Lovren - 1 awful display, just awful
Moreno - 6 pick of the defenders which admittedly isn't saying much, showed Gomez how to cover properly when he put on the afterburners and caught Son when he looked clean through again.
Henderson - 6 wasn't our worst player by any means, great assist for the goal and one of the few who actually busted a gut to get back whenever we lost the ball in Spurs half.
Milner - 3 his heart isn't in question but his legs are, he should have wrestled Son to the floor at the halfway line and took the yellow, no way was he going to be able to keep up with him in a 50 yard sprint.
Can - 2 at least the others looked @rsed, the only time he looked bothered was when Ali nutmegged him and pricked his ego.
Coutinho - 6 Spurs were all over him but he was still one of our better players
Salah - 7 our best player on the day
Firmino - 5 tried hard (even cleared one off the line) but he's not playing well atm

Subs
Ox - 7 thought he showed a lot of heart when he came on, the game was obviously gone but he kept trying
Sturridge - 4 that low mark is not his fault really, bar Ox and maybe Hendo everyone else had given up the ghost by the time he came on
Grujic - n/a not on long enough

Btw cheers Damjan, just wish some of our players would put the same type of effort in as you do.
