OK. So I am a relatively new member and we all do not like rumours...

Liverpool agree to sign Joel Matip on free transfer at the end of the season!

Can't say I know that much about him but he looks the part anyway (tall, quick etc).
The good thing about this transfer is that he's coming from the Bundesliga which suggests that Jurgen had a lot of involvement in this one.

This will most likely put Sahko or lovren on the bench. Our defense can only get better with Germans in bound.

Haven't watched him before, but if it's Klopp choice from the Bundesliga, I think we have a very good player. Read that his strengths are more on reading of the game, interceptions, versatility, composure on the ball and passing rather than brute force defending like Skrtle. If there are 2 CB's he would play the more advanced of the 2.

Sakho is still my favourite CB amongst what we have.

He sounds a similar style of player to Sakho, two more technically astute styles. Bit like Lawro and Hansen.... here we go !!

As for Matip, I dont know what to make of the signing. I havent seen enough of him to know if he's the new Hyypia or just another Lovren. My only hope is that the main reason we went for him wasnt his transfer fee. We have the quantity, let's hope he brings the quality.

Well the vast majority of expensive centre halves have flattered to deceive so I'm not overly concerned with the fact he's a free

More than anything we need a leader back there and hopefully this guy fills the void
