Can’t help but feel happy for young Gomez. Did his cruciate ligament the week Klopp joined and as soon as he recovered he got a serious achilles injury. Spent over a year working his way back so that he could join first team training again. Now he’s had a run of games you feel he’s getting close to full strength.

He’s ceiling is quite low as a fullback but starting off as full back is not an unusual route into the first team for centre backs. It’s also great that he’s been made captain of the England U21 and now been called up to the full England squad.

Well done Joe and keep it up!

Second. Not many young players come back from two serious injuries, but Gomez is progressing nicely. Pity the same can't be said for Flanno  :(

At fault for two of the goals last night due to his shocking defending.
Below schoolboy standard and something he must eradicate if he wants to be taken seriously as a player for LFC

He just made a mistake. That's what humans do. Generally he's been good.

Gomez doesn't turn 21 until the end of this current season, every player makes mistakes at that age. Mingolet is 29.

Fu'cked up again yesterday with his ball watching which allowed their goal.
Maybe hes not learning from his "mistakes"?

Don't understand why he was left back. He's getting shifted around a bit too much for my liking. Stick him at centre back with Van Dijk.

He has great potential and probably one for the future, but it wasnt a surprise that he was brought off and replaced with TAA last night.
Still has much to learn

Would love to see him alongside VVD in the middle. Think he would develop into a great centre back

His ability to beat players and bomb forward is very good, second half v Everton he was not as good, but hey, he looked the biz to me :)

Think he showed his inexperience today coupled with the fact he's a natural centre half. Once he turned his back to Sane he was running ib circles. The goal isn't completely his fault but he shouldn't have been beaten as easily as he was.

Thought it was a really poor piece of defending for the first goal and he's done it more than once this season. He had an awful lot of time to judge the situation and simply step back rather than follow the ball. But the positive thing is that it didn't effect him and he had a very strong second half. Sign of a strong mentality.
