Gomez can play as a fullback aswel. His like a utility defender. I would keep him. We have not got enough cover for full backs and if Clyne or new LB get injured we can utilise Gomez.
Injury crisis can hit us anytime like in Jan when we were struggling.

Poor Joe and us, he will be out for another lengthy period with damage to his Achilles tendon

The Echo saying we are likely to go into the market for an experienced centre back as we only have Matip and Lovren fit in that postition

Subotic was on his was to Boro and Vermaelen seems surplus to requirements at Barce, both could do a decent job

Its not poor Joe or Mamadou at all, they're not warming up properly/enough which is the coaching staff's job.

Is it too late to go for Subotic?

Not sure he has officially signed for Boro yet tbh mate, last I read was he was in advanced talks with them, might be a good signing especially with Skrtel and Kolo gone, plenty of experience

Echo are suggesting we should look at Vermaelen, Dante or bring back Kolo

I'd love us to hijack Subotic but that's me being hopeful. Not sold on any of those options

Unfortunately this may prove to be the start and end to a promising LFC / Football career.
Some players are just more injury prone than others.
He'll recover physically but mental recovery is much tougher at the top end of any professional sport.
I wish him well...

i hope we aren't going to see a repeat of that terrible run of injuries that we had last year. Ings and Gomez's season's were over before they'd barely begun and remember that spate of hamstring injuries?

Who made the Echo part of the scouting network? Maybe the Echo should stick to publishing and leave the 'suggesting' to the people that know.

On another note we are very strongly linked by 'most outlets' that Ragnar Klavan is on his way as defence cover, captain of Estonia

Sky Sports are reporting Joe Gomez will not leave Liverpool next season and has been given playing assurances

Source : http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... ext-season

Joe Gomez will remain at Liverpool next season after being given assurances about his first-team involvement, Sky Sports News HQ understands.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a loan move away from Anfield ahead of next season, with newly-promoted Brighton among the clubs mentioned as a potential suitor.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Gomez did consider the possibility of a loan switch but has opted to stay at Liverpool having been told he will feature under manager Jurgen Klopp.

Gomez, who joined Liverpool from Charlton for £3.5m in June 2015, returned to action in January following 15 months out due to injury.

He initially ruptured his right cruciate ligament while away on international duty with England in October 2015 and then on his return from that injury sustained an Achilles problem.

Due to injury, Gomez has only featured 10 times for Liverpool in all competitions.

Its hard enough to break through for any youngster, and even though Gomez arrived post schooling its still low odds to break in.

Club can bring in a boy at 10 and by 20 hes been working there for 10 years straight, but if they get 10 minutes in the first team and are shyte thats kinda it and your written off almost immediately by supporters and media. Its incredibly cruel but thats the cut throat nature of football.

If Gomez doesnt break in this season then I would leave, Stewarts another, just move them on with a good sell on included so you will always make money from their career.

Sometimes we hang on to players waaayyyy too long.
