It would add another trophy to our collection. It's important for the players as well as for the club's prestige to win that cup. It's will definitely increase our recognition on the international scale as mentioned above in another post.

actually getting tired of being called euro champs....would really like to be called WORLD CHAMPS 

so lets just win that damn thing.

I can't believe some people saying we shouldn't bother playing in it. We're practically given a place in the final of a competition worth £2.5M and something that to my knowledge no other british team has won (Nottingham Forest?). I know the fixtures are getting very congested but its not like this happens every year, and after this season Liverpool FC will have far more supporters giving us the ability to remain at the highest level of the game.

I'm looking forward to it, i hope we get the Aussie team they will surely be a walkover in an exhibition match for us.
The final would be very tricky against Sao Paulo probably and in conditions the players wouldnt be used to.
But it would be great to see our players against the best teams from the other continents.
