Champions League last 8 Qtr final.

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Barring a miracle from Porto scoring five at Anfield in the return leg, it's safe to say that we are through.. I'm asking who do you all prefer to be drawn against in the last 8 of the Champions League?

I don't want Spurs or Man City, I think it will be too intense over 2 legs, for the players and fans.we should avoid.

I'm hoping we get Man Utd (if they get through) or Bayern Munich. Our style of play would be suited to those teams, and I can see us whooping them. Maybe Chelsea or Real Madrid even!?

What do you lot reckon?

Bayern, Madrid, Barcelona or Juventus. Been a while since we had a sexy Champions League tie against a non-english European giant. It's what the Champions League is about.

I would prefer Shakhtar and after that then let the big teams come.
Tie is 2-1 to Shakhtar so far with the 2nd leg home at Roma.

It's hard to say really because most of the tie's could still go either way, for example although I'd make Spurs and United slight favourites to go through it wouldn't surprise me if Juventus and Seville were the ones in the hat for the next round.
Same with PSG and Chelsea, yes they have got a lot to do but I wouldn't completely write either of those two off either.

I'd prefer a non English side, preferably one of the better ones too, for reasons stated above by Eagle.

I hope we get Bayern, they're not as good as Real or Barca at the moment but are still one of Europe's giants. However, I think we'll get an English side, probably one of the mancs.

Juve - Spurs, and Chelsea - Barca could still go either way, but I'd face any of them.

Bring any of the foreign clubs on, we'll give them all a good spanking.

LOLEDGE to this thread.
So inpatient the world has become!
Why don't we all just wait to see if we are even in the 1/4 finals...
Being that it's only half-time!

You know... The Liverpool way?

Spurs just got booted out by Juventus, so at Least we can't face them now in the draw.

Hopefully, sevilla will beat man Utd and Barcelona will probably get past Chelsea also I reckon.

Bring it on.

Real Madrid, Man City and Juventus join us in the quarter finals. Yeah, feels good to be rubbing shoulders with these sort of clubs. Been a while.

I would rather have Juventus than Spurs so glad Spurs are out. Only problem is now they can focus more on the league which puts them in a stronger position.

Also, the further other English clubs go in the competition, the less money we earn. With there being 5 English clubs in the knockout stages this year we'll earn less compared to what's been earned in recent years.

PSG getting knocked out has thrown the tournament wide open, they were the favourites and everyone left in will fancy their chances. I'm glad Spurs are out too, midfield wise they were a bad match up for us.
I'm not bothered who we get in the next round now, even City, obviously I'd prefer to avoid them but we've played them twice this season and while we've had 11 men on the pitch we've more than held our own.
