:nod , yeah, part way through the movie it began to develop a real "Argo" flavour, definite similarities.

The Free State Of Jones is a phenomenal depiction of Newton Knight and his desertion from the Confederate front lines to form a rebellion against the slave owners and the Confederacy. Matthew McConaughey is a tour de force in the lead role and delivers  a truly masterful performance.

Definitely, one to watch ,one of my top films for 2016

Watch "Race" the other day. Based on Jesse owens and the berlin olypics in 1936. Decent movie i would recommend it.

Also i watched " Now you see me 2".
I have to say the first one was a lot better. 2nd one was good but not like the first one. For me the storline could have been better.

Watched Mel Gibsons' "Blood Father" last night. Despite the crappy title it was good to see Mel back in his blow 'em all away mode.

Popcorn rating 8/10   :buttrock

Mel making a bit of a comeback on all fronts.

Directing this WW2 drama based on a true story. Hope its more historical then Braveheart :D

Watched Netflix movie " The Siege of Jadotville"

Based on the true events during the 1961 Congo crisis, an inexperienced Irish company under the UN Banner fought against  a large force led by French Legionaries mercenaries.
Despite its small budget, well worth a watch

Watched "Hacksaw Ridge" last night. After seeing the trailers I was really looking forward to this one, thought it was going to be a "classic". Unfortunately for me the movie didn't really deliver.

Still a good watch, just don't go expecting anything on the level of say Saving Private Ryan or Platoon.

Watched Rogue One recently... well about 3 weeks back i think. It was surprisingly good!  :buttrock  I'd rate it 4/5. Simple well executed Star Wars movie. Better than the Force Awakens!
