Other teams transfers - 'cause its not just about me, me, me

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

Postby burjennio » Thu Aug 02, 2007 3:50 pm

What with all the big money transfers that the mighty reds have made and the  understandable amount of discussion we've all put into the many threads surrounding each, I was a little suprised to find a lack of discussion about what our domestic and european rivals had been up to this year on the forum.

Indeed scouring the European landscape you can't help but notice that a few teams out there are looking none to shabby rolling into the start of their own campaigns. Be it the tantalising Barcelona strike force, The vast forturne spent by the mighty Munich on two slow Germans and an ugly Frenchman or indeed, Manu :censored: away £50m on two kids Fergusons grandson probably found on Champ Manager.

Anywho, who, IYHO are the buys to watch this year?

Buy of the year?

Has to be Henry to Barcelona for about the same price as Bent.

if west ham got some money for the tevez thing and they are out of it now, how is what manure are doing now different from what west ham did last season where they were fined $5 million? that dodgy bloke still seems to own tevez and he always has so really hamemrs should be relegated and manure should now be fined and docked points?

henry buy of the year? how many games will he get when u got messi, ronaldinho and etoo in the same side?

my personal buy of the year i reckon is possibly gareth bale as an outside shot?

Hate to say it but i think the buy of the year might be Owen Hargreaves for united. He offers them something in which Carrick doesnt. Hopefully im wrong but i think Hargreaves will be a great player

Bent to Spurs! I think he will prove to be quite some player for them.

I know they lost Torres, but they certainly spent all the money we gave them:

7 Flag of Uruguay FW Diego Forlán (from Villarreal)
8 Flag of Spain MF Raúl García (from Osasuna)
9 Flag of Spain FW Luis García (from Liverpool)
13 Flag of Italy GK Christian Abbiati (on loan from Milan)
23 Flag of Brazil MF Cléber Santana (from Santos FC)
17 Flag of Spain MF José Antonio Reyes (from R. Madrid / Arsenal)
24 Flag of Portugal MF Simão Sabrosa (from Benfica)
16 Flag of Brazil FW Diego Silva (from Sp. Braga)
29 Flag of Spain MF Mario Suárez (loan return from Valladolid)

Bayern Munich brought in Klose, Toni, and Ribery.

Neither of those clubs are playing CHampions League football   ???

I like Bent for Spurs.  Think he'll add some pace upfront and he has scored goals at all levels and think he'll do well.

Ribery is a good signing for Bayern.  He's a dogged little player, who has a lot of skill and think he has a bright future.

Think Bellamy is a good buy for West Ham.  He's the type of player who needs to play every week and he'll get that at West Ham.  With Gudjohnson (presumably he signs) and Ashton he'll have two good foils for his game.

The other obvious player is Tevez.  Personally I think United needs a number 9 rather than a number 10.  However he's top class and I'm sure him and Rooney will find out a way of playing together.  Would have liked to seen the ugly b*gger at Liverpool.
