Flat track bully who goes missing in big games.

Just because he scores lots of penalties and free kicks doesnt make him anywhere near the best

i'm no fan of ronaldo either, benny - but have you been watching many of his performances this season? he's been an absolute monster and has at times carried the whole real team. he's been one of the stand out players in a lot of their CL games and also in some of the games against barca. its a real shame he's such a tit otherwise i'd have the utmost admiration for him.

Messi is better than Maradona.

Ronaldo (the original) was superb, gifted but his achievements were less.

Ronaldinho was not as good as Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo has proved himself over the years to be better than the original Ronaldo.

So, Messi or Ronaldo. Personally if I was putting a fantasy side together I'd rather have Ronaldo.

top 5 in no order

Pele
george best
paul gascoigne
Bobby Moore
maradona

no one in the modern game comes close.
the five players listed were on top of their game untill they burnt out, in todays football theu spend most of their time on the foor trying to get free kicks.

Maradona without a doubt. I've never seen any other players carry teams the way he did at his best.

Wow. Mate, you must be dangling your hook here. I know these things are subjective but that's just wrong.

What part ? Look at the chelsea game Messi didnt score because it was impossible for a pass to get into him. If he was that great he would have worked his way through

maradona.
messi is great but he wouldnt have been half as effective years ago when defenders could tackle from behind and kick forwards from pillar to post without getting booked never mind sent off.

Maradona, Muller, Pele and everyone else pales into insignificance when faced with Ferenc Puskas.

86 goals this year, totally amazing achievement. In so mething like 66 games, that is unreal. I always said Maradonna was the best I'd watched but I think history will have Messi as the best player ever to have played the game. He's only 25 and already he's Barcas top goal-scorer. I wonder how many goals our whole team scored this calendar year?
